A Women’s History Month series
March 10, 17 and 24
7 pm Central
Today we’ll explore the extraordinary life of Sister Emma Francis (1875-1945), the first woman of color to serve as a Lutheran deaconess. Before and after being consecrated a deaconess, Emma devoted her life to caring for at-risk youth. We’ll be joined by Sr Noreen Stevens, directing deaconess of The Deaconess Community ELCA and Sr Megan McClinton who is on staff at Mount Zion Lutheran (York, Pa.).
