It’s exciting to learn about the number of women gearing up to attend the Ninth Triennial Gathering. Some are making plans to travel with a group of women from their congregation, others are bringing their family and still others are simply coming solo. Women are creatively mobilizing other women and girls to attend this gathering. Women who have experienced the gathering in the past know that it is a place to renew friendships, meet new friends, learn, grow in faith and get inspired to bring back lots of ideas to share with their congregational unit. It’s the place to be renewed, and it’s a time of sharing with women from around the world and women of many generations.
Three years ago a woman was invited by a member of her congregation to attend the gathering for the first time. The inspiring speakers, workshops, interactive exhibits, global connections and all that the triennial had to offer left an impression on her.
She is now connected with Women of the ELCA through our Facebook community and has extended the invitation to her mother and women in her community to attend this year. The Ninth Triennial Gathering in Charlotte will offer more opportunities for connecting with women of many generations. Women are finding new ways to connect, grow, support one another and live out their faith through Women of the ELCA. How are you connecting women to become a part of our community?
