The government is “God’s servant for…good,” Paul says (Romans 13:4). So what happens when governing authorities do not do good? Unfortunately, Paul does not answer these questions directly in his letter to the Romans. But Paul does say two things to help us answer the question for ourselves.
First, however much you might want to, you can’t run away from government. Second, in your role as a citizen (as in every other aspect of your life), there is a particularly moral way God wants you to act.
