From “Words Matter in Church and Society” by Inez Torres Davis, from the August 2012 issues of Interchange. Today is the eighth Sunday after Pentecost. The readings are Deuteronomy 30:9-14; Amos 7:7-17 (semicontinuous); Psalm 25:1-10; Psalm 82 (semicontinuous); Colossians 1:1-14; Luke 10:25-37.
