A friend and I took his three young children to a worship service at a local nursing home where amenities are bare bones. When it came time to pass the peace, my friend’s oldest and youngest children jumped at the chance to greet those gathered. The middle child–just 6-years-old–was not convinced. All those strangers with mysterious ailments–some on oxygen tanks, one man laid back on a gurney–were unfamiliar territory. “You know,” my friend whispered to me, “If Jesus were alive today, I bet he’d live in a place like this.”

Today we remember Hildegard, Abbess of Bingen, who died in 1179. Do you enjoy these free Daily Grace messages? If so, donate now to further the ministry.
