The Holy Land is not the only holy land; other places, too, are filled with the Holy Spirit of God. But still, place matters. People matter. And matter matters.
These otherwise ordinary things—stone, soil, water, bread—become holy, and by God’s grace, we ordinary people become holy too, in our bodies as well as our hearts and minds. And in Israel and Palestine, in Mexico and Germany, in the United States and around the world, we become the living body of Christ. The Spirit of the risen Christ who is everywhere is also particularly in us, loving the world through human bodies and earthly things made holy. Don’t be surprised if you begin to meet the risen Christ in other spaces—in every holy land, everywhere you go.
