What we do in the here and now does matter—partly because our neighbor sees what we have to give and partly because we need to meet Jesus again and again. Our service to one another, our work in the world, is one way to “come and see,” one way to meet the risen Christ. It is also a response to that encounter. As we are drawn more and more into Christ’s own life and love, we begin to see more clearly that Jesus lives also in us. By God’s grace, those among whom we serve may see Christ’s presence in us, too, and hear, through us the invitation to “come and see.”
