It’s that time of the year—the time when we think about New Year’s resolutions.
It’s also the time of year when the church celebrates the day of Epiphany (January 6), beginning the season of Epiphany, which ends with Transfiguration Sunday. While the secular world is making promises and focusing on resolutions (most of which amount to attempts at self-improvement), the church is honoring God’s covenant and relying on God’s promises. Epiphany commemorates the arrival of the wise men who sought and paid homage to the Christ child. It’s the perfect time to look for new insights about ourselves and the God we serve.
