My grandparents live on the cherry farm where I grew up. It’s a small farm near the small town where they’ve spent their entire lives. When I was a kid, I had bigger plans—plans to move away and create my own future. But now, going back home grounds me.
Grandma’s presence is one of the reasons I feel rooted and loved in that place. In Titus 2, older women are encouraged to show younger women “what is good” (2:3).
My grandma lived what is true. She lived like she believed the divine is present in the everyday. Her life assumed there is light and holiness dancing all around us and our job is to simply open our eyes and see it.
