We all need a touchstone or two to which we can return for balance and connection no matter what has happened in life. The touchstone for God’s family is remembering that we are baptized. Baptism is the inward and outward grace of being united with Christ and born into God’s family, the church, with new life in the Holy Spirit. Baptism creates the ultimate big blended family as God adopts us and we inherit the kingdom of God forever because God loves and forgives us.
