Women of the ELCA staff collected awards at two religion communicators awards ceremonies April 19-21 in Chicago.
Staff took home three awards at the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards ceremony for work created in 2022, April 19 and one award at the Associated Church Press (ACP) Best of the Church Press Awards ceremony, April 20.
At the RCC banquet at Fourth Presbyterian Church in downtown Chicago, April 19, Women of the ELCA staff won an award of excellence and two awards of merit.
Women of the ELCA’s blog won an award of excellence in the blog series category, and Boldcafe.org, Women of the ELCA’s online magazine for and with young adult women, won two awards of merit in the Theological Reflections and blog series categories for three issues in 2022.
“It’s such an honor to receive these awards and be part of an organization that has such a lengthy award-winning publishing ministry,” commented Linda Post Bushkofsky, executive director. Bushkofsky, who directs the content of the blog and often writes for it, continued, “The [Women of the ELCA] blog features timely and relevant content that connects and accompanies readers in their faith journey so they can be advocates in the church, society and world.”
An award of merit for the logo and branding of “2122: The $1 Million Campaign for Katie’s Fund” was awarded to Elizabeth McBride, designer. McBride said, “2122: Growing Katie’s Fund for the next 100 years” is an extraordinary cause that gives people a chance to become leaders and make a meaningful contribution to the lives of women and girls across the church and globally—it is wonderful to be awarded among my peers for a campaign that I feel so strongly about.”
At ACP, April 20, Café, won an award of merit in the Theological Reflection (Short format), “Walking with Jesus and stepping on toes,” November 2022 written by the Rev. Dr. Jeanette Bidne.
