Whether it is advice shared about handling a difficult friendship, a break up, a problem with work or an in-law–the exchange of wisdom among women is incredibly empowering and in some cases life changing.
When I have received words of wisdom from the women I know, they often come as answers to prayer. Many times, these words have changed my mindset—catapulted me out of sadness and into action. From these exchanges, from women of many different ages I have learned more about myself, become better at work, a better friend and daughter.

I’ve always liked the story of Ruth and Naomi as an example of how women of different generations can support one another. And it goes both ways. We have a lot to learn from one another.
Every Wednesday, Café, Women of the ELCA’s on-line magazine, will be lifting up wisdom that has been shared. Follow @boldcafe on Facebook and Twitter and see the wisdom we have learned.
