Each June I reflect on what I have accomplished so far in the year. I check my “to do” list for 2012 and my goals for the remainder of the year. My schedule for this month is filled with the proud moments of graduations, weddings, birthdays, the beginning of summer. Registering for summer camp and soccer for my son and planning a family road trip are a part of the busyness of life. Each day seems to pass by quickly, and I tend to fit everything in my schedule.
One activity that is always at the top of my list is taking time to relax my mind, body and spirit. Before I promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world (see our Purpose Statement), it is essential that I take time out to practice healthy living.
Does your schedule seem to grow each year? As summer approaches and the days get longer, Women of the ELCA has several resources that can help you practice healthy living. Journaling, Page Turners, and Sacred Spaces are just a few of our resources that can help you to begin to create an atmosphere in which to relax.
Take a look at our resources and begin to create time and space for yourself and others. Plan to enjoy a space of laughter or meditation or create the space and activity that will inspire you to promote healing and wholeness. How do you take time to relax?
