A life of service (to date, that is)

kris photoI am finding myself at a crossroad.  I do not know what the future has in store for me, but I trust that God has a plan and it will be revealed to me at the proper time. Why do I find myself at a crossroad?  It’s because this is my final year of service to Women of the ELCA as a churchwide executive board member.Serving on the churchwide board has been a wonderful experience for me.  It has also been the perfect place for me to be the best I can be, in service to this organization and to its church. Women of the ELCA has been a big part of most of my adult life.  In the beginning, it was not a very big part, but it didn’t take long before I was serving as a leader in my unit and then in various leadership positions within my synodical women’s organization.

Now I see “the end” of my current service, but I don’t think it really is THE end.  God has put me on this path, a life of service, and I don’t think God is done with me yet.

I have learned something throughout these years of service, too.  God keeps putting me in positions of leadership that have term limits, but when each term has passed, God has found somewhere else or some other way for me to serve, I just didn’t know where or how that would be ahead of time.

I have also learned that I have leadership skills that I didn’t know I had back in my younger adult life, and God has shown me how to use them to benefit God through organizations such as Women of the ELCA.

I don’t know what the future has in store for me next, but I do know that God is faithful, and God will find just the right place to use me (again), but that’s not a surprise, is it?  God does the same thing for you, too!
