From suicide prevention to earworms and wheelchairs to cell phones, Women’s of the ELCA’s 10 most-read blogs of 2018 provided much wisdom and sage advice. And for your reading (or re-reading) pleasure we offer them here in order of popularity.

    1. Former executive board member Barbara Miller’s recollection of postpartum depression that nearly led to suicide was the most read blog on our site, open and read nearly 4,000 times.
    2. Executive board member Sara Larson caught the attention of readers by writing about the no-cell-phone rule she imposed on youth traveling with her to the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston.
    3. The laundry ministry of Church on the Street in Sioux Falls, S.D., details how Women of the ELCA participants like to jump in and help deserving ministries.
    4. A bite-sized article by Audrey Novak Riley, director for stewardship, included four questions for a Women of the ELCA retreat or day of reflection.
    5. Executive board member Dinah Dutta wrote about how we all are in need in a spiritual spring cleaning.
    6. Guest blogger Tricia Niesche recognized how God extends grace to us and acknowledged we should follow that rule by offering grace to others, even if we are angry or hurt.
    7. Elizabeth McBride, editor of Cafe, found out the hard way that she should live in the present.
    8. Sarah Carson, associate editor of Gather, discussed what she looks for in a new church after moving to a new home city.
    9. Guest blogger and ELCA Pastor Lisa Heffernan wants you to see her for who she is in all her humanity and not just notice her wheelchair.
    10. Linda Post Bushkofsky, executive director of Women of the ELCA, writes that those little musical earworms you get after hearing a favorite tune might be the Holy Spirit singing to you.

Check out these and all of our blogs at welca.org/blog. Tell us what you would like to read about or submit your own blog for others to read. You might make the top 10 list next year.
