Women of the ELCA brings home four more awards
Women of the ELCA took four awards at the 2015 Associated Church Press/Canadian Church Press convention awards ceremony in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on May 1.
Café received honorable mention in the Best in Class/Online category for independent websites. Elizabeth McBride (pictured here) is editor of Café and director for intergenerational programming for Women of the ELCA.
Gather took three awards: an award of merit in the Devotional/Inspirational category for “Healers and Restorers” by Gwen Sayler; an honorable mention in the Bible Reference category for its nine-month Bible study, “Transforming Life and Faith” by Carol Schersten LaHurd; and an honorable mention in the Personal Experience/Magazine category for “Thorns of Bitterness” by Heidi Neumark with Terri Lackey and Kate Elliott as editors.
Last month Women of the ELCA took three DeRose-Hinkhouse awards April10 at the Religion Communicators Council convention in Alexandria, Va.
In the digital communication category, Elizabeth McBride won an award of excellence for Café’s podcasts.
In the social media category, Women of the ELCA won an award of merit for its blog, which has many contributors, including staff and the executive board. Also in the digital communications category, Bold Connections, the e-newsletter of the organization, received an award of merit.
