Vonda, a journaling artist, describes her art as “a way to process the Spirit’s stirring in Scripture, reflections, poetry and music. If it catches my attention, I do my best to listen and respond.”
She’ll draw during plenaries and worship, responding through her art to the words of the preachers and speakers and other happenings at the gathering.
“She’ll also be in the exhibit area where women can interact with her individually, learning how she responds through art,” said Linda Post Bushkofsky, executive director of Women of the ELCA.
Vonda uses her artistic gifts and passion for art journaling to create images and stories that she shares on her blog and through resources that support faith practices.
Vonda and her husband, Jim, are the executive directors of the Grünewald Guild in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. The guild is a sanctuary for the exploration of art, faith and the mystery of creation.
Her art from the Tenth Triennial Gathering will be used to create limited edition greeting cards. Those can be purchased following the gathering.
