Day registration—either Friday, July 14, or Saturday, July 15—at the triennial gathering is $175 or about 12 cents a minute. The event is at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, Minn., July 13-16, 2017.
One-day registration gives you plenary sessions, including music and speakers, workshops and servant events, and full access to all the exhibitors and vendors. It also offers you fellowship with 2,500-3,000 other women of faith.

Leymah Gbowee, Nobel Peace Prize winner and a Lutheran sister from Liberia, Africa, will speak Friday morning. A panel will respond to Gbowee’s talk. Gather magazine’s three-session summer Bible study “All Anew: Ready or Not” by Kelly Fryer is shaping all main sessions. Gather is the magazine of Women of the ELCA.
Fryer, author of Reclaiming the “L” Word: Renewing the Church from its Lutheran Core, will lead Bible study Friday morning. She will remind participants that when God does a new thing, it happens in, through and with people who live on the margins.
The Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, a national leader in the areas of poverty and immigration, will speak Saturday morning. She will reflect on a session of Fryer’s Bible study that emphasizes the Bible is filled with people who challenged unjust systems.
An ELCA pastor, Salvatierra will examine systems that we should challenge. She’ll outline the counter-cultural, justice-making actions we are being called to take. A panel will respond to her talk.
Fourteen workshops are offered both on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Workshop topics range from Sabbath-keeping to ending human trafficking, from facing shame to building cultural competency. Complete details are available online.
Those registering for Friday are also invited to attend a book-signing session that will involve at least eight authors who are presenting at the gathering. Three Twin Cities-based authors will be among those signing books: Karen Hering, (Writing to Wake the Soul), Julie Neraas (Apprenticed to Hope: A Sourcebook for Difficult Times) and Sally Howell Johnson (The Practicing Life: Simple Acts. Sacred Living).
Tickets are also available for the National Lutheran Choir. The choir will perform Saturday, July 15, at 8 p.m., at the historic downtown Central Lutheran Church near the convention center. Tickets are $25, plus a $5 total registration fee. Those who complete one-day registration can buy National Lutheran Choir tickets at the same time.
Both the opening worship at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, with ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, and closing worship at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 16, are open to the public. Seating is subject to availability.
