Twenty-four of Women of the ELCA’s program resources are now available in Spanish. “With Spanish-speaking congregational units in the Caribbean Synod and elsewhere across the ELCA, these Spanish resources help fulfill our Purpose Statement of supporting one another in our callings,” said Linda Post Bushkofsky, executive director.
“They also represent a significant outreach opportunity to the more than 200 Spanish language ministry settings within the ELCA. With these resources we can help mobilize our Latina sisters to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ,” explained Bushkofsky.
Lydia Davila, president of the Caribbean Synodical Women’s Organization, joyfully reacted when she learned that these resources were now available. “Wow! This is beautiful. I promise that all of my women will know about this. It’s just what we need. Thank you to my God and to all of you for this work,” said Davila.
Bushkofsky also noted that these resources—both in English and Spanish—represent a gift to the whole ELCA as well as ecumenical partners. “Many use our free, downloadable resources, noting their quality and diversity,” Bushkofsky explained.
Plans exist to translate the remaining program resources as well. The new Spanish resources can be found here.
