Tomorrow, October 17, is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. It’s a time to focus attention on people living in poverty, hear their voices and demonstrate our solidarity.
A staggering 70 percent of people living in poverty globally are women and children. In the United States, 14.6 million women and nearly 13 million children live below the poverty line.
Consider partnering with Women of the ELCA on one of our specific efforts to combat this crisis. Maybe you can volunteer at a local food pantry or homeless shelter.
Together, our impact is amazing. Join with Women of the ELCA to make a positive impact on those who are suffering.
