The tumor on my hearing nerve took away my faith, just as it had taken those glorious bird songs. I wailed that I would never thank God for anything again. Yet even through my rage, I couldn’t help but smile. God knew I wouldn’t do that. I began to slowly feel God’s presence again. Today I am totally deaf in my left ear, have a slight facial paralysis and constant ringing. But the tumor in my brain stem could have caused a stroke. God, the perfect protector, had removed that from me and restored my faith.
