Rest assured that you don’t have to change your whole personality to share your faith. You don’t have to stop strangers on the street to tell them the good news. You don’t have to tell everyone at work about your life-changing experience at Bible camp when you were 13 or how your midlife crisis refocused your faith life. Perhaps later you’ll have a chance to mention prayers wonderfully answered or family members healed, but you don’t have to start there. Start simply. Let people know you are involved in your church. Let people know that church is a vital part of your life.
This message is adapted from “Go and Tell” written by Karen Melang in the October 2000 issue of Lutheran Woman Today (now Gather) magazine. Today we celebrate the visit of Mary to Elizabeth (transferred), and we emember Justin, martyr at Rome, who died around 165.
