Julian’s Revelations of Divine Love share her “showings” of God’s love and union with creation. Humans are “soul and body, clad in the goodness of God,” she states. “See, I am God. See, I am in everything. See, I do everything. See, I never lift my hands from my works, nor ever shall, without end. See, I lead everything to the end I ordained for it from without beginning by the same Power, Wisdom and Love with which I made it. How would anything be amiss?” Our only response must be to “assent with great reverence, rejoicing in God.”
This message is an excerpt of “Messenger of God’s Love” by Laura Jane Gifford, in the May 2017 issue of Gather magazine. Today we remember Julian of Norwich, renewer of the church, who died around 1416.
