“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11 (English Standard Version).
We have all heard the joke—do you know how to make God laugh? Tell God your plans.
Many of us are planners. We want to know what is happening today, next week, next year. Or we have a goal in mind and plan the steps to reach the goal. Or we are list makers: grocery lists, to-do lists, or maybe even honey-do lists. Crossing off an item helps us feel as if we have accomplished something.
As this new year begins, we wonder what it holds for us. We will list the items we want to accomplish next year. Those are not necessarily resolutions; they are dreams, ambitions, hopes. Whatever your plans, remember to let God help!
