We are all refugees in two senses: first, we are pilgrims and sojourners on this earth. Pilgrims are those who set off from a certain place with a destination and purpose. We are sojourners in the sense that we find resting places all along this journey, but we never pitch our tents permanently. Second, every time we step out in faith into a new venture, we are following the pattern of Abraham. As God sent Abraham and Sarah to a far country, so God sends us continuously into a life of adventure and uncharted waters. The very nature of faith is to launch out in trust.
