Moving from charity to advocacy

11.12.2017

Daily Grace

While many churches stick with what they know by providing direct service to the needy, those who go outside their comfort zone and get involved in advocacy have told me that in the process, they built capacity for new ways of discipleship and become a vocal witness to the Christ who bids us serve the neighbor.

This message is an excerpt from “Finding our voice” by Amy Reumann, in the July/August 2017 issue of Gather magazine. Today is the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost.
