Therefore, I tell you, her sins, which were many, have been forgiven; hence she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little. (Luke 7:47)
The general principle is this: The more we recognize that all we are and have is God’s gift to us, the more we will be able and willing to share our gifts with others.
Most of us probably don’t remember when we first learned to read. We may recall our first-grade teacher, and we might even have some of our early reading books stored away. But what about that moment when we first discovered that certain letters fit together in certain ways to make certain sounds when spoken when the marks and spaces on the page became words we could recognize and say? Reading is a precious gift, one we can share with others.
All we need is to be aware of the gifts God has given us; showing great love will follow.
