In my prayers throughout this year, I longed for mercy. I kept coming back to the word “mercy.” Merriam-Webster defines mercy in this way: “kind or forgiving treatment of someone who could be treated harshly.” This is what we receive from God daily—deep kindness, endless forgiveness—and we’re invited to practice that toward others.
