Sometimes our failure to share the good news can be hurtful. A woman once told me that her friend and coworker was going through a difficult time. She talked with her friend every day and kept her on a personal prayer list. But she never told her friend that she was praying for her.
One Sunday, her friend showed up at her church. The friend was upset and said something like: “All this time, I was asking God for a sign that God was with me, that somebody cared, and you never told me you were praying for me. I didn’t even know you were a Christian.”
God nudges, urges and sends us to share the good news with people who need to hear it. God uses who we are and where we are as signs of Christ’s presence with others. Regardless of what keeps us back from following where God sends us, God continues to call, prod and lead until we listen and respond.
