Since I started using a prayer journal, I’ve discovered God uses prayer to make me ready to respond to God’s call. I do not always know how to pray, but I have noticed how God has changed my heart toward the people and situations in my life.
When circumstances arise that call for action, I’m more likely to respond as I believe God would desire. The action could be as simple as inviting my new neighbor to dinner. I had prayed for her regularly since she moved in, and wanted to get to know her better.
I think it is awesome that God works through us to extend his love and care to others. Prayer has played a big part in opening my heart to answer God’s call to serve.
