We started the day with a New Orleans tradition: café au lait and beignets at Café Du Monde. Yum!
It didn't take us long to go from this ....
Then it was off to the convention center to set up our Café at the ELCA National Youth Gathering. There the youth and their advisors can sign up to subscribe to Café, our free online magazine where the current article addresses healthy friendships with BFFs.
Youth will be invited to share an example of how a friendship enhances their lives. They’ll record these thoughts on special post cards prepared just for this event. We’ll be mailing these post cards out to congregational units of Women of the ELCA each day. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to receive one!
This evening we’re off to Grace Lutheran to host a meet-and-greet with local women. We’ll check in afterward and let you know what the Lutheran women of New Orleans are talking about.
