Oh, how our violent world today needs all the beauty we can create!
What beauty do you bring to your world? A quilt you’re working on? A specially set table for dinner? A single rose you’re taking to someone in a nursing home? A letter to your congressperson about care of the earth? Music?
What beauty would you like to add to God’s world? Do it.
This message is adapted from “Sabbath Ahead” written by Nancy J. Stelling in the September 2015 issue of Gather magazine. Today we remember hymwriters Philipp Nicolai, died 1608; Johann Heermann, died 1647; and Paul Gerhardt, died 1676.
