Insomuch as human beings are capable of spiritual energies like compassion, generosity, and loving kindness, the Eucharist names the Spirit’s economic plan. Like the sharing of bread, water, and wine in community, we share the common elements of earthly life. Recognizing that sharing the common elements of life gives us all that we need, we may even begin to change our minds about what life demands of us.
