Have you ever felt as though God has plans for you that are so unusual that never in your wildest dreams would have been on your “radar”?
That’s how I felt four years ago when I was elected to the office of synodical women’s organization president. I was content to edit the newsletter, minding my own business, working in a library, and retiring from many years of working with young people.
But, God had other plans for me.
Remember this Jeremiah 29:11 verse? “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.”
When I look back, I suspect that God had been preparing me for this role without my knowledge. I had only to trust in God’s guidance as “I did my job.” It hasn’t always been easy, but I knew the Holy Spirit was there to keep me on task.
Remember, God has a plan and is calling you. Will you listen and answer God’s call?
