There is something special about being in a faith community. Being with one another helps our understanding of who we are as children of God, as well as what is going on in the world around us. The Bible illustrates how important being in community was for the people of God. It was not just Adam in the Garden of Eden forever, but it was Adam and Eve. It was Moses who led the community of Israelites into the Promised Land. It was the community of disciples who went out into the world baptizing people in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
When we find places where we feel like we belong, our view of ourselves and the world is changed. We find new talents and skills that we never knew we had. We can be connected with friends and supporters who are there with us through good and bad times. In community we find new passions about how we can serve.
