“Lord, to those who hunger, give bread. And to those who have bread, give the hunger for justice.” A Latin American prayer
Here in the United States, one in 10 households goes without at least one meal a day. Charitable food donation sites, like those run by churches, are finding it harder to meet the increasing requests for food. The U. S. Conference of Mayors reported that 40 percent of the adults requesting food were employed, but due to high rents and low wages, they could not provide enough food for themselves and their families.
Jesus calls us to love, to feed others and to be witnesses of God’s love. What are your plans to love fully and to tend and feed God’s sheep this day?
