The rock has already rolled—that is, the big rock, the boulder that kept the crucified one in the tomb. That rock has already rolled. Christ is risen. And Christ is on a roll, going ahead of us, calling us to share in the new life that is stirring and multiplying and growing, by the grace of God. How shall we do our rock-rolling as followers of this rock-rolling Christ?
Today is Easter Sunday. The readings are Isaiah 25:6-9; Psalm 114; 1 Corinthians 5:6b-8; Luke 24:13-49. This message is adapted from “Rock-rolling in Church” written by Carol Tomer in the October 2000 issue of Lutheran Woman Today (now Gather) magazine
