We all need the experience of fellowship, of coming together as a community of believers. These experiences are a key part of living the Christian life. And coming together in fellowship and worship encourages our good will and acts of faith in the world around us.
We pray: O God among us, we gather in fellowship to worship and praise you. Day by day, we are in awe of your goodness, your strength and your everlasting love. May we work together as one community of believers to exemplify the teachings and generosity of your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
This message is based on “Fellowship in God’s community,” a devotion originally published in the September 2010 issue of Interchange. On this fourth Sunday in Lent, we remember John Donne, poet, who died in 1631.
