Not too long ago, I visited a middle-aged couple in my congregation. Their son-in-law is a gifted pastor. Their daughter is a deeply committed, faithful lay person.
Though the parents have actively participated in our congregation for years and would undoubtedly identify themselves as people of strong faith, they are amazed at the faith of their children who are now young adults. When I asked them where they see God at work in their lives, they at once exclaimed, “In our children!”
As Scripture tells us: “In the last days it will be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams” (Acts 2:17).
