With a 12-year-old, 3-year-old, 8-month-old and a husband living in my house, the joys and blessings of motherhood keep me pretty busy. Balancing out the chores and activities with quality family time takes effort, as does making sure Jesus is still at the forefront of our lives.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 commands us to pray continually. This I can do–I learned to call them “breath prayers.” Give us peace and rest, Lord (at 3 a.m.). Dear God, please give us a heat wave (at 3 degrees below zero). Please bless them with nice friends and God-loving spouses (not too soon…). Thank you for the blessing of hugs (even the sticky ones).
Breath prayers help me stay connected through the big, little, messy and loving moments of each God-given day.
