For summer 2022, participants will enjoy a three-session Bible study that uses the concept of quilting to explore rest, renewal and Christian community.
We’ll discuss Old and New Testament readings as we consider the patterns we follow and how the pieces of our lives and communities are bound together in Christ. While no actual sewing experience is required to complete the study, participants can opt to create a quilting project as a lasting reminder of their time together. MORE

Rachel’s Day is observed by Women of the ELCA annually on the first Sunday in May, though it can be observed any time of the year. It is a time set aside to mourn the loss of our children and to renounce the forces of violence and fear. The 2015 Rachel’s Day resource includes a litany for use in a special Rachel’s Day service. Close to 400 women from throughout the church participated in an online leadership event February 17-19, 2022, under the theme, For Such a Time as This: Spirit fed, Spirit led. Together they explored the challenges faced by Lutheran women (the challenges in our world as well as those within our organization). They explored the book of Esther, learning how Queen Vashti’s “no” made it possible for Esther to say “yes” to helping her people. They explored the hallmarks of servant leadership and investigated planning strategies. They worshipped God. And now these women are ready to respond to such a time as this.
Videos of both days are available at the link below.
