Women of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in
America (ELCA) offers scholarships in
three categories:
scholarships for Lutheran
laywomen
Opportunity Scholarships for Lutheran Laywomen provide assistance to Lutheran women studying for a career other than ordained ministry.
scholarships for administrative
leadership
The Arne Administrative Scholarship provides assistance to women interested in reaching the top of their field as administrators. The additional education may be pursued through full-time attendance in school, night courses, or summer sessions.
scholarships for ordained
ministry
The Herbert W. and Corinne Chilstrom Scholarship provides assistance to Lutheran women during their final year at an ELCA seminary. Candidates must be preparing for the ordained ministry in the ELCA and have been endorsed by their Synodical Candidacy Committee.
All scholarships are
awarded to women who
are members of the
Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America.
How to get
information and
forms
The
application period
for scholarships for
the 2009–2010 school
year begins
December 15, 2008 and ends February
15, 2009. Complete applications must be
postmarked by
February 15, 2009.
Watch for applicable
forms to be posted
in October 2008.
