What We Do

Faithful Travel

Taking part in a global education trip is not simply a matter of visiting another country, or even another part of this country. Global education is about building relationships, celebrating community, and accompanying one another.

Fellow ELCA member, Rick Steves, is a noted travel author and public television host. He talks about his travel experiences and raises provocative questions for your consideration before you embark on a domestic or global education experience.

Faithful Travel with Rick StevesJoin Rick Steves in an exclusive, five-program journey through church history and global mission. In "Faithful Travel," Steves lays out his personal philosophy — and theology — about the nature of "faithful travel." Steves asks fellow travelers to consider the impact of their travel on the people they meet, to delve deeply into the wonder of God's created world — and God's people — to think carefully about how their travel helps (or hinders) matters of peace and justice.

The affable television host and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood, Washington, reveals his sense of personal mission and poses some difficult questions about how travel changes lives forever.

Order a copy. Five programs on one DVD; $39.95. As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit,  we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church,  the society, and the world.
