On
Thursday we will enjoy the evening as special guests of the Mormon
Tabernacle Choir. The choir will be rehearsing for its weekly 30-minute
radio and TV program, Music and the Spoken Word, which airs on
Sunday mornings and is the world's
longest-running continuous network
broadcast — more than 75 years —
carried on over 2,000 radio and
television, cable, or satellite systems.
All 360 members of the choir are volunteers. They rehearse and perform
about five hours in an average week — Thursday nights for two hours and
Sunday mornings for more than three hours, culminating in the broadcast
of Music and the Spoken Word.
