The Rev. Elizabeth Eaton is preaching at the closing worship at Come to the Waters 2008.

She is bishop of the Northeastern Ohio Synod. She was ordained in 1981 and began her ministry as pastor of All Saints Lutheran Church in Worthington, Ohio. In 1991 she accepted a call to become pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ashtabula, Ohio, where she served until her election as bishop.

Among her many community activities, she serves on the boards of the Community Care Ambulance Network and Samaritan House Homeless Shelter. She also works with the High School Consolidation Effort and is a basketball referee. She was co-founder of Imagine Ashtabula and has received the NAACP President's Award.
