The ELCA Mission Investment
Fund (MIF) has challenged Women of the ELCA to create 500 new individual accounts
or accounts that total $1.5 million — whichever comes first* — between June 1, 2006,
and June 30, 2008. The challenge awards Women of the ELCA $25,000 toward
the 2008 Triennial Gathering.
MIF offers a variety of fixed- and adjustable-rate investments. Your
involvement helps new mission congregations with land purchases and
building first churches, assists established congregations with
additional educational space or sanctuary expansion, and aids in the
renovation needs of older congregations.
All you need to do is complete a simple and easy application and, for as
little as $25, you can open an account today. Download this
brochure for an overview of the
challenge
Take advantage of this great offer now. Use your account to save for
your Gathering registration and travel costs. Or simply set up your
account to show your support for church growth, the women's
organization, and yourself — everybody wins!
Visit the Mission Investment Fund Web site to learn how the challenge
works and to request your packet or call 877-886-3522 (toll free) for
more information.
More good news
MIF will staff a service center at both the Convention and Gathering for
your convenience. If you open a personal MissionPlus account, you will
be able to cash checks against your account at the Gathering (and your
investment still counts toward the challenge goal).
* This represents a revision of the original goal of 1,000 new accounts.
The significant amount of money available through the new accounts
opened to date caused MIF to revise the goal. |
