This description is for the treasurer and financial secretary or recorder in a Women of the ELCA unit using the board model as its organizational model.

Unit financial leaders are encouraged to participate in any treasurer's training available within their synodical organization. Generally, these leaders:

• Are entrusted with the custody of the unit's funds, which includes bookkeeping and transmittal of offerings to the synodical and churchwide expressions of Women of the ELCA.
• Are desirably bonded through the congregation's insurance policy.
• Disburse funds only by authority of the unit or as the unit's bylaws prescribe.
• Provides a full financial report annually or as the unit's bylaws prescribe.
