Five ways to be connected

New to Women of the ELCA or a seasoned participant, young or gracefully aging, participant or in a leadership position? Staying connected to Women of the ELCA is the way to maintain your enthusiasm for the mission of the organization, be in the know on what's happening and what's coming up, and support your personal growth at the same time. Choose from the options here — or choose all five — and you'll be well connected with the churchwide women's organization's resources, events, news, and programs, and with women throughout the organization.

Cafe1. Café—Stirring the Spirit Within is an award-winning, online magazine from Women of the ELCA that features timely articles about faith and life, Scripture reflections, and an opportunity for sharing your thoughts with others. The e-zine is addressed primarily to women ages 20 to 35, yet its articles will inform and inspire women of all ages. Go to www.womenoftheelca.org/cafe and feel your spirit refreshed. Lutheran Woman Today2. Lutheran Woman Today helps you live and experience your faith every day. The magazine (another award winner) offers a good mix of faith-in-life articles, theological reflections, devotions, and stories that speak to the hearts and souls of progressive Christian women. With a special focus in 2005–2008 on living healthfully, praying for peacemakers, and acting boldly in faith, Lutheran Woman Today will connect Christian women of all ages with like-minded others who are committed to growing in faith and building the kingdom of God — next door and across the globe.

The magazine begins its new nine-month Bible study series, "Act Boldly in the Fruit of the Spirit," in September. Written by the Rev. Sue Gamelin, the study is based on Galatians 5:22–23. Paul's exhortation that we live by the Spirit, not the desires of the flesh. "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control," Paul writes in Galatians. Like good food and wine, the articles in LWT and Bible study complement and enhance one another.
