About the authors
The Rev. Gwen Sayler is a professor of Hebrew Bible, avid
bicyclist, and Green Bay Packer fan. In 2001, she celebrated
the 30th anniversary of her consecration as a deaconess in
the Valparaiso Lutheran deaconess community, and in 2002,
she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her ordination in the
ELCA. The 2006–2007
school year will mark her 16th year of service at WTS.
The Rev. Ann Fritschel, a Wartburg Seminary graduate,
celebrated her 20th anniversary of ordination in 2006. After
serving churches in Dickinson, Mohall, and Hamerly, N.D.,
she got her Ph.D. from Emory University and joined the
Wartburg faculty in 1996. She is also the director of the
Center for Global Theologies. Ann has presented numerous
workshops on the Psalms and Islam and has
led several synod assembly Bible studies. She is owned by
two cats, both of whom like her sister better. She is a
descendant of Gottfried Gritschel, one of the founders of
Wartburg Seminary. |
