An update on the
HEART for Women Act
The latest hearing on the HEART for Women Act went very well. In general, the bill was well received by the subcommittee. The witnesses, Dr. Sue Bennett, the director of the Women's Heart Program at the George Washington University Medical Center, and Janet Wolf, a heart attack survivor from Santa Barbara, Calif., both did a fabulous job, according to Stephanie Mohl at the American Heart Association.
What you can do
While the bill has gained a
large number of
co-sponsors in the
last couple of weeks
(see list below),
there is still work
to do. As
of May 2, the bill
has 140 co-sponsors
in the U.S. House and 29
co-sponsors in the
U.S. Senate, including all
14 female senators
and 59 of 74 female
representatives. If
you live in one of
the states listed
here, please contact
your female
representative and
urge support for the
HEART for Women Act.
